2027 Elections: Sanusi Hosts APC Leaders from Ibadan South-East, Calls for Unity

The Okanlomo Oodua and Gbonka Olubadan of Ibadanland, Chief (Engr.) Jubril Dotun Sanusi, has hosted more than 60 apex leaders and key stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Ibadan South-East Local Government at the Ilaji Resort, Ibadan.

The high-level engagement was part of ongoing consultations aimed at promoting party unity, strengthening grassroots mobilisation and fostering greater cooperation among APC stakeholders ahead of the forthcoming elections.

Among the prominent stakeholders at the meeting were Alhaji Mufutau Adisa Gbayawu; Hon. Alhaji Mojeed Olaoye; Hon. Akeem Olatunji Akogun; Alhaji Wasiu Ajimobi, Ikolaba Olubadan of Ibadanland; Dr. Chief (Mrs.) A.A. Fayokun; Chief (Mrs.) Dr. C.A. Isijola; Mogaji Abass Oloko; and Mr. Asanke Tajudeen Abioye, among other party leaders and community stakeholders.

Also in attendance was the APC candidate for the Ibadan North-East/Ibadan South-East Federal Constituency, Hon. Ibrahim Olayode Iyiola, alongside the party’s candidates for the Oyo State House of Assembly representing constituencies within Ibadan South-East Local Government, Hon. Wasiu Hamzat and Hon. Warris Adegoke Alawuje.

Representatives of the JDS Movement from Ward 04, Ibadan South-East Local Government, led by Chief Adebayo Oloko, also participated in the engagement.

The meeting provided an opportunity for stakeholders to discuss party cohesion, grassroots mobilisation, effective representation and the need for collective efforts to strengthen the APC’s presence across Ibadan North-East and Ibadan South-East.

Speaking at the meeting, Sanusi called for greater unity, commitment and collaboration among party leaders and members. He urged the stakeholders to take the party’s message and that of its candidates to the grassroots while ensuring that political activities remained peaceful and issue-based.

He also appealed to the stakeholders to rally support for APC candidates across the various elective positions, stressing the importance of coordinated efforts, active participation and sustained engagement with constituents.

According to him, political leadership should remain focused on the interests and development of the people, urging candidates and party leaders to maintain regular engagement with their constituents and stakeholders.

The stakeholders, in their responses, reaffirmed the importance of unity and cooperation within the party and expressed their readiness to strengthen grassroots mobilisation and support the party’s candidates ahead of the elections.

The meeting ended with renewed calls for continued consultation, peaceful political participation and collective action among APC stakeholders across Ibadan South-East and the wider Ibadan North-East/Ibadan South-East Federal Constituency.
