The Chairman of Isu/Okoma town union meeting, Ebonyi Ibadan chapter has backed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the signing of the electoral bill into law.
Recalled that President Tinubu signed the bill into law after the National Assembly; The House of Representatives and the Senate harmonized the bill which had hitherto being protested against by opposition namely Peter Obi and the Obedient movement,Atiku Abubakar as well as the African Democratic Party ( ADC) on the basis that it will enhance rigging of election.
Recalled that the House of Representatives proposed that there that there will be real time transmission of results by technology while the Senate want this backed with manual transmission of results due to the lack of communication network coverage in every part of Nigeria.
Speaking in Ibadan, Uzor noted that President Tinubu did what he ought to do by signing the bill into law adding that there was furore because of trust deficit among Nigerians.
He noted that it is still human beings that will be working on the machine and it is anything that they imputed that will be sent to INEC sever pointing out that it is what is sent to the portal that will be displayed as results.
The Chairman explained further that there is nothing that can be done beyond voting and watching the votes being counted and the results being entered and sent to the INEC portal which he noted can be manipulated if they wanted.
He observed that most of those criticizing are arm chair critics who do not go out to vote let alone watching it being counted stressing that the complaint is due to trust deficit among Nigerians about the system in place.
Uzor cited an example of himself where he had to travel to Ebonyi state in order to cast his vote for a candidate of his choice during the last general election wondering how many Nigerians can do the same thing.
“ During the last election, I made sure I cast my vote for the candidate of my choice and even I waited for the votes cast to be counted because I wanted to satisfy my conscience by casting my vote on that day” he revealed.
