Royal fathers and Nigerians have been urged to emulate the humility and devotion of the Osile Oke-Ona, Egba, Abeokuta in Ogun State, Oba (Dr.) Adedapo Adewale Tejuoso (CON), Karunmi III, who laid down his crown in reverence and worship of God Almighty, the King of kings.
The admonition was made by Chief (Mrs.) Ibiyemi Ade-Adekambi, the Mojibade Idomapa of Oke-Ona, Abeokuta, while speaking with Oodua News at the 22nd edition of the Kings’ Day of Praise programme organized by Oba Tejuoso on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at the Multipurpose Hall, Bishop’s Court, Onikolobo, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
According to Chief Ade-Adekambi, Oba Tejuoso’s act of humility and submission—laying down his crown to worship God—was a rare and inspiring gesture that should be emulated by other royal fathers across the nation.
She described the monarch’s devotion as “very encouraging and exemplary,” noting that his action had set a spiritual standard worthy of admiration and imitation by both traditional rulers and the general public.
“The programme, Kings’ Day of Praise, organized by Oba Tejuoso, is a wonderful initiative—one that should not be missed. I can see the hand of God upon it. This is my first time attending, and I don’t think I’ll ever want to miss it again,” she said.
Chief Ade-Adekambi expressed delight at seeing many royal fathers worshipping and praising God together, calling it a “beautiful and uplifting sight” that reflects divine unity and humility.
“For Oba Tejuoso to lay down his crown and go on his knees before God shows his deep submission, humility, and commitment to the Almighty. It’s a gesture that every royal father—and indeed all Nigerians—should emulate,” she added.
She further emphasized that witnessing other royal fathers join Oba Tejuoso in worship was an unforgettable experience and a testament to the greatness of God.
“It feels so good seeing other royal fathers lay down their crowns to honour God Almighty. This is awesome and very encouraging. It makes me believe even more that our God is truly great and reigns supreme,” she said.
Chief Ade-Adekambi concluded by urging Nigerians to embrace humility and genuine reverence for God, taking a cue from Oba Tejuoso’s exemplary act of worship.
“If a king of such high repute can humble himself before God, then everyone should learn to do the same. Nigerians should believe in God, humble themselves, and serve Him wholeheartedly—just like Kabiyesi has shown us,” she said.
