The Oyo State Obidient Movement, under the dynamic and purposeful leadership of Ayo Akinyemi, wishes to express our full and unreserved support for Dr. Femi Dexter Akin-Alamu and the courageous step he has taken in alignment with the collective vision of our principal, His Excellency Mr. Peter Obi, and the wider Obidient coalition.

According to a statement signed by
Comrade Ayo Akinyemi
Coordinator, Oyo State Obidient Movement
Dr Dexter’s principled resignation from the Labour Party, and his decision to pursue the upcoming August 16th Ibadan North Federal Constituency by-election under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), is a bold demonstration of his loyalty to the people, the Obidient vision, and the urgent need for a strategic political realignment in these challenging times.

“We stand solidly behind this move —it reflects integrity, courage, and a clear commitment to the New Nigeria Project. The unfortunate crisis rocking the Labour Party nationally has made it imperative that all progressive-minded Obidients rally under a platform that guarantees structure, stability, and credibility. The ADC has shown itself to be that platform.

“We therefore call on all Obidient members in Ibadan North, across Oyo State, and indeed all patriots aligned with Peter Obi’s vision, to swing into full campaign mode to ensure a resounding victory for Dr. Dexter in the August 16th by-election.

“This is not just another election; it is a battle for the soul of our democracy and the future of our people. Victory for Dr. Dexter is a victory for accountability, good governance, and the enduring spirit of the Obidient Movement.

“Let us all rise in unity, mobilize our strength, and channel our energy into grassroots engagement, voter sensitization, and robust campaign efforts that will deliver an unmistakable mandate come August 16th.

Forward Ever!
