ESV Modeyin Bayo Kingsley  Emerges  18th President of  Rotary Club of Olambe  District 9112.

The Rotary Club of Olambe District 9112  has installed Rotarian (ESV) Modeyin  Bayo Kingsley as the 18th  president of the club.

The programme which  was  held at NUT Pavilion, Alausa Ikeja, Lagos on Saturday 7th September, 2024 witnessed the investiture of Rotarian (ESV) Modeyin Bayo Kingsley  as one of the 1st Pioneer President of District 9112 and the 18th president of the Club, alongside the induction of the Board of Directors for  2024/2025 Rotary year, and project fundraising.

The new President, Rotarian (ESV) Modeyin Bayo Kingsley was introduced and inducted in the presence of past presidents and distinguished guests of honor after  donations were  received from those who believed in his capacity to drive the club forward. 

In his acceptance speech, he expressed his heartfelt appreciation and gave  some inspiring words to the audience saying; “from my experience, Rotary is akin to a College Education in leadership where we are continually trained and retrained. I hereby express my sincere appreciation to the great leaders of RC Olambe. In this Rotary year by God’s grace.

“I will deploy maximum energy to ensure that the esteem reputation of our Club continues to soar as the Rotary Club of Olambe will embark on several impactful humanitarian projects aimed at making our club more irresistible and great.

“I humbly appeal to all our esteemed supporters to donate generously towards the execution of these projects, and with the cooperation of everyone and the mechanism we have put in place, I am confident that we will experience a successful and fulfilling Rotary year”.

“I am truly elated to extend my warm greetings to you all.

My heartfelt appreciation goes especially to our Royal Father and Royal Mother of the day, the Chairman/Chief Launcher, The Guest Speaker  and all the dignitaries present at this historic occasion in honour of my investiture as the 18th President of the Rotary Club of Olambe.

“Today, I express my deep gratitude for the opportunity bestowed upon me by the leadership of the Rotary Club of Olambe to take up the mantle of leadership as President of the Club for the 2024/2025 Rotary year. It is with great humility and a sense of duty that I formally accept this role and the responsibility it carries.

“In this Rotary year, with God’s grace, I will deploy maximum energy to ensure that the esteemed reputation of our Club continues to soar. We will work diligently to address the challenges currently facing our Club, with the hope of bringing about the much-needed transformation that will strengthen our community and our service.

“From my experience, Rotary is akin to a college education in leadership, where we are continually trained and retrained. I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the great leaders of RC Olambe for providing me with the opportunity to engage with Rotary, thus creating an enabling environment for me to develop and refine my leadership skills.

“Over the past seventeen years, the esteemed RC Olambe has successfully delivered various projects across the Olambe territories and surrounding areas, all of which have greatly benefited the community. Some of the recently completed projects include the installation of a borehole for the residents of Adiyan Community, the fencing of Legun Primary School, and the recent renovation of Olambe Primary Health Centre, among others, which have positively impacted the lives of many.

According to him, in this Rotary year, by God’s grace, the Rotary Club of Olambe will embark on several impactful humanitarian projects aimed at making our Club even more irresistible. Notable among these projects are the renovation of Olambe Community Comprehensive High School Toilets, the donation of desktop computers and the upgrading of library facilities and laboratory facilities  for the school, leadership education with a focus on character building, the provision of interest-free loans to small-scale business owners, and orientation sessions on successful business management, along with a variety of other projects.

“As we move forward, I humbly appeal to all our esteemed supporters to donate generously towards the execution of these projects. With the cooperation of everyone and the mechanisms we have put in place, I am confident we will experience a successful and fulfilling Rotary Year.”

Meanwhile, the induction of the New Board Directors  was done by the President after his installation at the  investiture ceremony 

The ceremony had in attendance, distinguished guests, Rotarians, Rotaractors,  Community leaders, and Royalty marking a new chapter of the Club as it continues its mission of service.

They included; Royal Father of the Day, His Royal Majesty,  Oba (Engr.) Basiru Aremu Sotonwa (FNSE)

(Sekumade  of  Ipakoda Kingdom), Royal mother of the day, Lion (Olori) Marie Ige Owoniyi, the Special guest of honor, Hon.(Barr.) Olusegun Modeling, AG. (Barr) O.A Eyinfunjowo, Hon. Toki Mabogunje,   Rotarian Chief Ojiekere Ajayi Irivboje,    IPP Benedict Ajike    ESV (Dr.) Ijadola Olawaiye recognized in absential.

Others are Engr. Kingsley O. Bello, 

Engr. Oladele Akintola, Mr. Ayokanmi  Oluwafemi 

, Prince  Obafemi Onabanjo and co- Irresistible presidents from other clubs.

In his address, the outgoing president Rotarian (Engr.) Abiodun Ojo James expressed  his gratitude to Almighty God,  his board of Directors and in particular Rotarian ESV Modeyin Bayo Kingsley who according to him  did very well as director of Service Project  and currently coming in as as the Irresistible president for the 2024/ 2025 Rotary year.

“I wish the new president, (ESV) Modeyin Kingsley whom I know will do better than me a huge success in his tenure of office and I pray God will bless him with strength and wisdom to take the club to a higher level and all elected board of directors, I wish him best of luck “

Rotarian (Engr.) Abiodun Ojo James admonished the new Executives to embark on projects that will advance the course of the Club, just as he led the rotary invocations such as Rotary Grace, 4-way tests of things we think, say, or do, objects of Rotary and Rotary songs were done.

He expressed his gratitude to Almighty God, the  board of directors, and his members, just as he wished  the new president a successful tenure in office.

“His achievement, notably among others include : the Comprehensive  renovation of Olambe Primary Health Center  which was anchored by Rotarian ESV Modeyin Bayo Kingsley as Director of Service Project currently coming in as the irresistible president for the 2024/2025 Rotary year.

Other Project executed included the education and literacy project featuring Career Talk in engineering, Medical profession, Legal, Information Technology, Managerial line for student of Olambe community comprehensive Secondary School, Olambe.

 Others are Maternal and Child Health featuring distribution of treated Mosquito Net and medical Orientation to Pregnant and Nursing mother, Economic Community Development Project featuring Liquid Soap production and Fundamental Skill for poultry farming, Environmental project featuring Cleaning of Jolasco Market and donation of Cleaning facilities and sponsoring of Youths for RYLA  to help.build their leadership Skills.

In her address, the Chairperson, and  Rotarian Past President Pennyon  Bello’s said; “we are thrilled to have you join us for today’s investiture where we hope to raise money to implement laudable projects already lined up for the year guided by the rotary International on the  seven area of focus with primary intent to impact positively on our immediate community and beyond.

“Today we come together to donate our time and treasure with an unalloyed mission to serve and impact the lives of our people positively”.

The Royal Father of the Day His Royal Majesty,  Oba (Engr.) Basiru Aremu  congratulated the new president of the prestigious Rotary Club of Olambe and pledged to support the Club in executing the projects.

The Mother of the Day, Lion Olori Maire Owoniyi was not left behind, as she also pledged support of funds she will be donating to the club.

The guest Speaker, Otunba (Engr.) Mustapha Lusty in his intriguing Speech lauded the impact  the Rotary Club  has made worldwide as well as how Rotary service has earned the  global recognition of the people, stating  that the  Rotary Club  is the only Non profit Organization that has the best recognition in the United Nations. He  pledged a donation to support the club’s mission and Rotary vision.

The programme featured award presentation to His Royal Majesty Oba (Engr.) Basiru Aremu Sotonwa  Osomekun 1, The Sekumade  of Ipakodo Kingdom, Lion(Olori) Marie Ige  Owoniyi, Rotarian Chief Ojeikere Ajayi Irivboje, Mr Mayomi Modeyin, Rotn. Engr. Mustapha K Lusty.

Others who were presented award are  Mr.Ayodele Olonikadi, Rotn. Hon. Toki  Mobogunje, Rotn.Niyi Ajao, Rotn Pennyon Bello, Rotn Afuwape Taiwo, and Rotn. Engr. Abiodun Ojo James.

Rotarian ESV Modeyin Bayo Kingsley hails from the Ilemila Royal Family in Kabba Bunnu Local Government Area of Kogi State. He was born into the family of the late Pa G.O. Modeyin Owolowo and the late Mrs C.A. Modeyin Owolowo.

He obtained his First School Leaving Certificate from St Andrew No.2, Kabba, Kogi State, in 1984, and his SSCE certificate from Titcombe College, Egbe, Kogi State, in 1990. During his secondary school days, he was known for his academic excellence in Mathematics and Physics, and he was a member of the Quiz Team, representing the school in various academic competitions.

He also won the Best Artist of the Week award several times in the Talent Forum conducted by *The Herald* newspaper, showcasing his outstanding art work.

Rotarian ESV Modeyin Bayo Kingsley attended Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin (1992–1994), Auchi Polytechnic, Edo State (1995–1997), and the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (1999/2000), where he obtained an OND Certificate in Estate Management and Valuation (1994), an HND in Estate Management and Valuation (1997), and a PGD in Shipping, Exporting, and Petroleum Management (1999/2000) respectively.

In 2004, he proceeded via direct entry to pursue a degree course in Estate Management and Valuation at the Federal University of Technology, Minna, graduating with a B.Tech in Estate Management with flying colours in 2006.

Rotn. ESV Bayo Kingsley is an astute Estate Surveyor and Valuer with over 16 years of post-chartered experience, covering all the essential knowledge areas of Estate Surveying and Valuation.

He has worked with prominent estate firms and property development companies such as Messrs Diya Fatimilehin & Co (Valuation Implementation Surveyor), Ibukun Efuntayo and Co (Head of Operations), and Alfred James Holding Ltd (Head of Real Estate/Facilities Management), among others, heading various units before finally resigning in 2016 to drive Bayo Modeyin Consulting as Principal Consultant/CEO.

 He had floated this registered estate surveying, valuation, and property management company in 2010, and he remains the Principal Consultant of the company to this day.

Rotarian ESV Modeyin Bayo Kingsley holds the following qualifications: Associate Member of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (ANIVS, 2008), Registered Member of the Estate Surveyors and Valuers Registration Board of Nigeria (RSV, 2010), Member of the International Facilities Management Association, Member of the American Society of Real Estate Appraisal, and Certified HSE 1 and 2 Holder from the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health, United Kingdom.

 He is also a graduate and alumnus of Fate Foundation and a regular participant in the Fate Enterprise Continuous Development Programme. Additionally, he is a graduate of the Rotary Leadership Institute and completed an entrepreneurship programme at CGM Consulting. He has taken several management certificate courses with the British Council Management Express Forum, obtained a Certificate in Project Management Fundamentals from Bross Broad Spectrum Synergy, and received a Certificate of Participation in the Asset Management Partnership induction programme organised by the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON), along with other certificate courses.

On Leadership Roles and Training, 

Rotarian ESV Bayo Modeyin joined Rotary in 2022 and has served in the following capacities: Secretary of the Investiture Committee for the 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 Rotary years, Chairman of the Disaster Relief Committee for RC Olambe, Site Coordinator for RFHD for the 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 Rotary years, Director of Service Projects for RC Olambe in the 2023/2024 Rotary year, and Member of the Disaster Relief Corps. He is the current Irresistible President of the Rotary Club of Olambe and a graduate of the Rotary Leadership Institute.
