The Executive Chairman of Afijio Local Government, Hon. Emmanuel Olufemi Aikomo has flagged off the distribution of Federal Government Grain Palliatives (Maizes and Gari) in Afijio Local Government.
The beneficiaries were groups and associations in Afijio Local Government and they were represented by one delegate from each group.
They are; Local Emergency Management Committee, Department of State Security (DSS), traditional rulers,Nigeria Police Force, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corp (NSCDC)
Others include; persons with disabilities
women associations,
faith based organisation ( CAN),
Civil Society Organisation,Principal Boarding Schools and the
Nigeria Red Cross
among others.
Hon. Olufemi Aikomo charged the distribution committee to adhered strictly to the distribution template as directed by the Deputy Governor of Oyo State His Excellency Barrister Bayo Lawal in order to ensure transparency and accountability in carrying out the assignment.
The palliatives were distributed at the Local Government Hall Jobele in the presence of the Vice Chairman/Political Head of Afijio West LCDA Hon. Tajudeen Adegoke, the Chief of Staff -Hon. Olatunbosun Stephen Oyediran, the Head of Local Government Administration -Dr. Agnes Ojo, the Director of Education and Social Services – Mrs Adedayo Olabode among others
