Complimenting the efforts of the Oyo state Governor, ‘Seyi Makinde’ at averting outbreak of the infectious and contagious disease, cholera in the State, the Political Head/ Latosa Administrator, Aare Latosa LCDA, Hon Akeem Ayoade has taken drastic and prompt action to inspect toilet facilities within Bodija market
The LCDA boss expressed his displeasure at the state at which the facilities are presently, which is an eyesore adding that it can promptly and effectively help the spread of the disease as they were domiciled within an international market where people of different tribes, locations come to shop
He maintained that clean and healthy environment within the market as well as the LCDA as a whole, must be priotised in order to avert the spread of the disease in the State
Ayoade also signified his interest in building hygienic and healthy environment within the LCDA in order to maintain the State exclusion in the list of affected States
Recall, about 31 States in the Country, have recorded cases of cholera with deaths toll, while others are on danger list
During the inspection tour, one of the toilet facilities was sealed due to some inadequacies noticed and observed at the facility in a view to having cholera-free zone within the LCDA
