The clamour for the quick coronation and presentation of Staff of Office to the Olubadan- designate, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin as Olubadan of Ibadanland received a boost as founding father, Arewa Consultative Forum, Alhaji Tanko Yakassai, veteran Nollywood actor, Chief Lere Paimo, alias Eda Onile-Ola, Professor Bolanle Awe and civil society organizations added their voices for the installation of Oba Owolabi Olakulehin by the Oyo state government .
The call was made on Sunday at the Ibadan residence of the National Coordinator,
Coaliton of Pro-Democracy Groups for A Better Nigeria, Comrade Awa Bamiji during the Eid-el-Kabir celebration .
The gathering throws its weight behind instant coronation of His Imperial Majesty, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, as Olubadan of Ibadanland and a powerful and strategic Committee was tasked to take up the assignment immediately with the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII) and other stakeholders in Nigeria.
In a statement, Comrade Awa Bamiji who felicitates Muslim faithful across the country on the occasion of the Eid el Kabir celebration, expressed appreciation for the support by various personalities and civil society organizations.
“With your unflinching support, we shall do it again for posterity’s sake. Yes, we can!
“May generations behind us celebrate us during our lifetime as well as when we are no more. By God’s grace, we shall all be honoured alive and when we passed to the glory beyond.” he said
Recall that Awa Bamiji in collaboration with other Civil Society organizations organized the 13th NationalUSAmh Discourse of Coaliton of Pro-Democracy Groups for A Better Nigeria to commemorate the 30th anniversary of MKO Abiola Epetedo Self – Declaration Anniversary during the June 12 Democracy Day celebration held inside MKO Abiola House, Ikeja.
Dignitaries in attendance at the epoch making occasion were Comrade Shehu Musa who represented Alhaji Tanko Yakassai ,Oloye Lekan Alabi, Maye Olubadan of Ibadanland represented Olubadan- Designate, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, Prof Sabitu Olagoke, JP, Founder and Spiritual Head, Shafaudeen In Islam Islamic Center Worldwide, Engr (Mrs) Abimbola Akinajo, Managing Director, Lagos State Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA), who doubles as a life Patron of Coaliton of Pro – Democracy Groups for A Better Nigeria ,Comrade Debo Adeniran, Comrade Ayo Adewale, Dr Wales,.. At the event Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State was represented by his Deputy, Dr Obafemi Kadiri Hamzat, who arrived the venue in company of Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr Tayo Akinmade Ayinde and Commissioner for Information, Mr Gbenga Omotoso.
