
The Executive Chairman, Akinyele Local Government, Hon. Taoheed Jimoh Adedigba has donated working equipment to all security agencies with the local government area to enhance their efficiency.


The equipment are ; new brand motorcycles, new brand Motorolla walking-talking (10 kilometer radius) brand new laptops with printers, brand new generators and financial aid

The security agencies that benefited are , the Nigeria Army 2 Mechanised Division, Odogbo Oojo, Nigeria Police Force, Akinyele, Moniya, Igbooloyin, Ikereku and Oojo, Department of State Security (DSS) Moniya, Civil Defence Corps, Igbooloyin, Moniya, Oojo and Kajorepo, Nigeria Correctional Service, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Nigeria Customs Services, Immigration, Vigilante, Soludero and Amotekun


Speaking at the official handing over ceremony at the local government premises, Hon Adedigba said the gesture is to support the security agencies efforts in ensuring that the lives and property of citizens are adequately protected.
The Council boss stated that one of the sole responsibilities of any elected officers is to ensure adequate protection of lives and property of the citizens from any external force and see to it that the whole community is free from any criminal acts which in turn will create an atmosphere for economic growth.
The council boss reiterated the harmonious relationships between the security agencies and the Local Government and to celebrate their professionalism and tireless effort in curbing the crime and forestall peaceful and safe environment where citizens can be rest assured that lives and property are well protected.
Hon. Adedigba stressed that, since living in peace is one of the Cardinal agenda of the pace-setter state under the leadership of the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Abiodun Makinde, the Local Government also leverages on the agenda to make Akinyele Local Government a no-go- area for criminals and criminalities.
The Chairman acknowledged that in our world today, criminal acts as become the norm which some of our teaming youth engaged in and which have spread to all the nooks and crannies of our country.
” For us at the grassroots, we are working very hard to curb any form of unrest within our villages and communities under our watch.” he said
He urged all the security agencies that the society is expecting much from them and government will not relent in her efforts to provide necessary tools to enhance efficiency
He said the distribution of the equipment is the first phase of equipment to be donated to the security agencies assuring them of a second phase soon
He enjoined citizens of the area to be watchdog of their various communities by reporting any suspected persons or forms of crime within themselves, saying “if you see something, say something”.
Hon Adedigba appreciated the state Governor, Engr. Seyi Abiodun Makinde for the privilege and opportunity given to him to serve his people as chairman of the council.
He also expressed gratitude to the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters,
Hon Segun Olayiwola, for the time-to-time support for the council
While responding to the good gesture of the chairman, the DPO Akinyele, Division appreciated the gesture received and assured citizen of better communities policing.
