Makinde releases another N1.3bn for payment of gratuity to retirees

Oyo State Governor Engr.Seyi Makinde has released a sum of over 1.3billion naira for the payment of gratuity and death benefits to deserving retired public primary school teachers and Local Government Service for the First Quarter of Year 2024.

The State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Mr. Olusegun Olayiwola, made the disclosure during a press conference held at the Local Government Conference Room, State Secretariat Agodi Ibadan.

He said the governor has pardoned and reinstated all pensioners that have one time or the other missed the “I Am Alive Screening Exercise” since 1994 till date to the monthly payroll of pension allowances.

He also confirmed that Over four hundred (400) retirees are to benefit from the payment of gratuity and death benefits for this phase assuring that the payment will commence today Friday 26th April.
