Speaking at the visit, the OYSIEC Chairman, Aare Isiaka Abiola Olagunju, (SAN) said the visit was aimed  at seeking collaboration with the command so that the electorate will have confidence to troop out en masse to vote on election day.

He described voter apathy as the greatest challenge and called for concerted efforts among all the security agencies in the state to prevent  disorder, molestation and harassment during the  election.

Olagunju explained that it was important for residents to partake in the forthcoming local government election, urging them to see their participation at the poll as a responsibility and duties to be performed as citizens of the state.

He speaks further” The purpose is to have  collaboration with security agencies, you will recall that we had visited the police, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, it is also important for us to visit the DSS too to seek their collaboration for peaceful conduct of the election, that is why we were there and we are very glad that they have assured us of their Collaboration and assistance in ensuring that election is peaceful and orderly.

“Before the election, we are going to meet all the security agencies again to further strengthen measures being put in place, so far, there is no problem

“ Our message has always been that residents should have the assurance that the election will be peaceful, transparent, free, and fair, what we want them to do is to  troop out  en masse on the 27th of April, and we assured that their votes will count “
