Oyo Ohanaeze mourns with Makinde, Ibadan indigenes over Olubadan’s demise

The Ohanaeze Ndigbo of Oyo state mourns with His Excellency Engr Seyi Makinde the Governor of of the state over the demise of the Olubadan of Ibadan Oba Senator Mohood Lekan Balogun Okumade.
In a release signed by the President of Ohaneze Ndigbo Chief Ndidi Nzeako under the auspices of Ohaneze/Igbo Community Development of Oyo State ( ICDA) led by Chief Ndidi Nzeako,the body noted that Engr Makinde has made Ibadan and indeed Oyo State very conducive for all to live and do their businesses without any form of intimidation.
Ohanaeze said that “we mourn with you because you have been very supportive while our Eze, Eze Dr. Alex Anozie was alive, and even after his death.
Chief Nzeako said that Ndigbo, is sad to hear of the sudden death of His Imperial Majesty Oba Senator Mahood Olalekan Ishola Balogun, Okumade II .
pointing out that this is the least expected, essentially that His imperial Majesty, the Olubadan has related with Ohanaeze Ndigbo as a father to a son.
He stated that “he has stood by us and supported us amidst the transiency of his friend Late Dr. Alex Anozie, the Ezendigbo in Ibadan land whose sad departure hit us on the September 27, 2023”
The Oyo Ohanaeze President said further that “we are the most unfortunate sons losing two of our fathers within a space of six months. It’s most puzzling, hard to understand, nebulous and irreparable.
He said further that” we mourn his departure with the most hearty affections which as it were had been a part of him when he lived” adding that
“Ibadan and indeed Oyo State is thrown into mourning. The people of Oyo State and indigenes of Ibadan
are in the barest of spirit. His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde
will no-doubt be worried essentially that he seeing the end cum death of two imperial majesties within a space of six years”
The release posited that “we deeply commiserate also with the immediate family, Iyaoba of Ibadan land, Olori Joyce Balogun as she has been a mother to Ndigbo ever before now, and had given as always open invitation whenever we are in dire need pointing that “we mourn with mummy and the children God had given her while praying that God will help her the fortitude to bear this loss.We pray for the happy repose of the soul of His Imperial Majesty”
