IA statement signed by Deyemi Saka reads”This is to inform the general public that the X(former Twitter) profile @General_Ibro does not belong to the former Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, GCFR.
While it is evident that the person or persons behind this parody account is/are quick to publish actual statements of the former leader on this profile, such statements are in public domain and this should not be seen as an authentication of this account.
General Babangida does not have any social media account or profile.
While all the necessary steps to report the page and take it down are being taken, I will like to reiterate that Nigerians should disregard this profile or any other profile claiming to be General Ibrahim Babangida on all social media platforms.
