As part of efforts towards reconciliation and unification of members of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP , Hon Kamorudeen Ajisafe popularly known as Kosolowoe has emerged as the National Vice-Chairman ( South West) of the Party.
His nomination was ratified at the Southwest PDP Zonal meeting held at Agodi Government House.
Ajisafe’s emergene follows the vacancy within the party after the death of its former occupier, late Olasoji Adagunodo last year.
The meeting had in attendance the host Governor, Seyi Makinde, Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, former Governors, Dr Olusegun Mimiko,(Ondo) Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola(Osun)
Others were Chairman Board Of Trustees (BoT )of the party, Senator Adolphus Wabara, Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (South), Amb. Taofiq Arapaja, Senator Abiodun Olujimi, Chief Iyiola Oyedokun, Dr Eddy Olafeso , other Zonal executives and members of the state working committee from Oyo, Osun, Ogun, Ondo and Ekiti state
Oyo State Governor ‘Seyi Makinde while addressing newsmen after the meeting declared that the south west PDP is now stronger and fully united.
In his words: “the major outcome of this meeting is that now the south west PDP is now fully united.
“And we have a new National Vice Chairman in the person of Engineer, Barrister Kamorudeen Ajisafe.”
In his remarks while addressing newsmen shortly after his emergence, the party’s new national vice chairman (south) Barrister Ajisafe expressed gratitude to governors Seyi Makinde and Ademola Adeleke for their leadership roles and making it possible for him to emerge as the new national vice chairman.
He also thanked the party’s National Deputy Chairman (south), Ambassadors Arapaja for his unrelenting support culminating into his emergence.
Speaking on the dispute resolution within the party, Ajisafe said: “the margin reconciliation is ongoing and as a barrister, I should be able to lend my own weight also to the reconciliation process so that at the end of the day, we could easily predict the future that tomorrow will be good and PDP will take its rightful position in the nation’s political arena.
“There’s no doubt the two of them (Makinde and Adeleke) have come together and I’m going to position myself in such a way not to undermine the regulations, rules and constitution of our party.
” So, the reconciliation will continue and we will ensure discipline within our party.”
The PDP National Deputy Chairman (South), Ambassador Tapfeeq Arapaja, also told journalists that the party is coming back stronger and better.
He said: “Today, we have held the zonal meeting of South West PDP caucus and the two governors, Governors Seyi Makinde and Ademola Adeleke, for the first time came together to meet with members nominated to represent our zone in Abuja as the national vice chairman.”
He disclosed that Nigerians should expect that PDP with its vast experience in and out of government at the national level to reclaim its rightful position.
