Oyo CP Modifies Security Architecture Ahead Yuletide Season, Deploys Adequate Personnel, Resources

The Oyo State Commissioner of Police CP Adebola  Hamzat, psc, FICMC, fdc, Ph.D has enjoined the peace-loving people of the  state to avail the command  with credible information that can assist the police in effective crime management especially during and after the yuletide season.

The CP gave this directive during a strategic end of the year security meeting with the officers on Thursday at the Command’s Conference Hall, at Eleyele, Ibadan.

This was contained in a press release with reference numberREF.NO: AZ: 5250/OY/PPRO/ VOL.6/208 through the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO)SP Osifeso Adewale  and made available to Journalists, saying the call became imperative in order to enable the command  to effectively  management crimes during the festive season.

CP Hamzat also directed all Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers and Tactical Commanders to increase layers of supervision around their subordinates particularly men on the field who daily interfaces with commuters and other civilian population while the Command’s Monitoring and X-squad units have been tasked to deal decisively with any officer whose actions or inactions bring about embarrassment to the Command and by extension the Police Force through extortion, incivilities and other professional misconducts.

 The CP while  felicitating  the  entire people of the state ahead of the Christmas and forthcoming New year Celebrations assured the people of effective policing in the season.

 The CP also ordered that all Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, Heads of Department/formations and Tactical Commanders to deploy adequate personnel and resources throughout the length and breadth of Oyo State particularly at all critical infrastructures, recreational facilities, Media Houses, Banks, Correctional centers, Public Spaces, Places of Worship and all adjoining highways and routes within and outside Oyo State.

The event also witnessed the dismissal of two Special Constabularies who openly solicited for money from a Foreign Female Tourist as captured on a viral video along Oyo road.

The Commissioner of Police  wishes  its  partners especially sister security services, the media and other stakeholders crime-free holidays ahead.

Meanwhile, residents are reminded that the ban on procurement and sales of fireworks still remain in force as defaulters would be thoroughly sanctioned.
