The combined team of the Nigerian Police Force,Saki division in conjuction of the 244 Recce Battalion of the Nigerian Army Asabari barrack ,saki have successfuly arrested nine suspected land grabbers along saki, Igbooloogun- Irawo road on Sunday.
According to reliable source, the suspects loaded in buses with various weapons and charms, invaded some acres of land belonging to an America based indigene of saki who intends to establish a private university on the land.
The people living in the area on sighting the hoodlums alerted the Divisional Police Officer,(DPO )Sup. O.Kolawole who led his men to the scene .
The exercise was successful due to the intervention of officers and men of the Asabari barrack saki joined them.Nine suspects were arrested while others ran away .
Items recovered from the suspects include ; six venice’s ,dangerous weapons such as cutlasses,locally made guns,broken bottles and charms
The suspects have been taken to Eleyele police Headquarters in Ibadan as at press time .
When contacted,the Police Public Relation Officer, Adewale O,sifeso confirmed the incident saying investigation is ongoing.
