Olowere: Clerics, senators others gather in Ibadan to bid popular cleric  farewell

Prominent Christian clerics and leaders on Friday gathered in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital to bid the founder of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Oke Agbara, Ibadan, Pastor Michael Ojo Olowere farewell. 

Olowere who was fondly known as Baba Automatic died in July this year. 

He died at the age of 100 years.

Oodua News reports that prominent Christian clerics on Friday gathered in Ibadan for the Christian Wake keep and service of songs organised in honour of the popular prophet. 

Among the clerics at the event held at the main bow of Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Adamasingba Ibadan are; President of Christ Apostolic Church Nigeria and Overseas, Pastor Samuel Oladele, his predecessor, Pastor Abraham Akinosun and the General Evangelist of CAC, Pastor Hezekiah Oladeji.

Other clerics at the event are; the presiding Bishop of Victory International Church, Ibadan, Bishop Taiwo Adelakun, Evangelist (Dr) Bola Are, Evangelist Bisi Alawiye Aluko, Lady Evangelist Racheal Olowere, Pastor Olatoye Ojo among others. 

The Regional Superintendent of CAC, Pastor Gabriel Dada in his sermon described death as the path to heaven. 

Dada while advising  Christians to move closer to God, noted that everything acquired in life by man will become vanity one day. 

He described the late pastor as a man who used his life to serve God and humanity. .

“There is nothing in this world because all these things we are seeing are for the meantime. The moment God command death to take the life, it takes it immediately”. 

The Senator representing Oyo South Senatorial District, Barrister Sharafadeen Alli who was also at the event described the late pastor as someone who was always interested in the welfare of people around him and someone who always speak truth to power. 

Alli while speaking said, “I have known Baba for quite a number of years. He is someone who is always interested in the welfare of people around him. He believed in the development of human race. 

“Certainly, we will miss him. Nigeria will miss him. If you listen to his sermon, you will gain one or two things in his sermon. He is somebody that always talk truth to power. Baba will say it as it is”.
