Wife of the General Overseer of Save and Serve Christ Family Church, Abanla, Ibadan, Bishop Jide Orire, Rev’d (Mrs) Arinola Orire has admonished President Bola Tinubu to embark measures that will address the failing economic undermining the living standard of the citizens.
Rev. Orire gave the admonition on Sunday during the 2023 Women Convention of the Ministry, saying the president need to take urgent steps to address the economy challenges of the country.
According to her, Nigeria at 63 ought to have gotten it right both politically and economically, unfortunately it is still crawling.
“It is unfortunate that Nigeria which is called giant of Africa is still crawling at 63 years. I urge women and the citizens to prayer fervently so that God will intervene and deliver Nigeria from the economic problems.
Speaking on the programme, Rev. (Mrs) Orire said the convention comes up once every year, saying the 2023 edition coincided with the 63rd independence of the nation, adding that the theme is, “Help”
“The convention is an occasion where we come together to pray for our family and the nation, and also celebrate the grace and faithfulness of God on women of the ministry.”
Speaking on the roles of women in nation building, Rev’d Orire urged them to be of positive influence and support to their husbands adding that the country can be better with good support from women.
“Women, especially wives of politicians and top government functioneries need to support their husbands by influencing them to do the needful in their respective assignment in the country.They also need to go out to market places and villages to see things for themselves, this will make them know why they need to positively influence their husbands to do the needful.
“Nigeria is 63, and somebody who is 63 years old should know the right thing, but the reverse is the case with the nation. The country is still crawling at 63, I therefore urged our leaders and president Bola Tinubu to act fast in revamping the economy, the naira is falling every day, He needs to do something urgently.
According to her, the development has made many youths go into all kinds of illicit acts including yahoo and abuse of drug.
She prayed that God will help the president to revamp and reposition the economy of the nation.
