Remains of Iyalode of Ilora, Afijio Local Goverment Area of Oyo State, Chief (Princess) Ruth Olatooke Olaniyan-Ajenifuja were last weekend commited to mother earth at her residence, Ajenifuja House, Ilora after a burial service held in her honour at Okediji Baptist Church, Ilora.
In his sermon, the officiating Pastor, Rev (Dr) I.A. Olajide admonished christians to emulate the good virtues of obedience to God, and endeavor to win more souls for Christ.
The cleric extolled the good virtues of the late Iyalode of Ilora who, during her lifetime, assisted many youths and adults to attain greatness in life.
“Chief (Princess) Ruth Olatooke Olaniyan-Ajenifuja while on earth not only served as a bridge-builder and a role model, but equally prioritized peaceful co-existence among the people.”
“The late Iyalode of Ilora, during her lifetime, was known to be a lover of peace, highly accessible and a cheerful giver who lived a fulfiiled christian life.” the clergy said.
Head of Oguntunde family that facilitated the burial programme, Chief Bisi Oguntunde, described the late Iyalode as his ‘mesiah’ who, in the year 2000, assisted him with funds when he was about giving up the ghost from serious illness.
Chief Oguntunde pledged the readiness of his family to sustain the tempo of late Chief (Princess) Ruth Olatooke Olaniyan-Ajenifuja’s legacies of hardwork, culture of giving and tolerance.
