BASA disclosed this during a courtesy visit to the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Council, Mr Akeem Abas, on Sunday in Ibadan.

The former Special Assistant on Diaspora to Gov. Seyi Makinde said the visit was part of consultations ahead of the 2027 general elections.

She said her aspiration was driven by the desire to provide quality representation for the people of Oyo South Senatorial District at the National Assembly.

BASA said she would focus on effective lawmaking, robust oversight functions and facilitation of projects that would impact positively on constituents if elected.
She pledged to sponsor bills and motions that would address the needs and aspirations of the people of the district.

The politician also promised to give adequate attention to women and other vulnerable groups through inclusive representation and responsive leadership.

BASA appealed for public support, assuring the people that she would not disappoint if given the mandate to represent them in the Senate.

She recalled experiences gathered while serving in Gov. Makinde’s administration and expressed gratitude to God for overcoming challenges encountered during the period.

BASA also congratulated Abas on his emergence as NUJ chairman in Oyo State and prayed for wisdom and strength for a successful tenure.

The visit formed part of her ongoing political consultations as activities ahead of the 2027 elections continue to gather momentum in Oyo State.
