Hon. Gbolagade Abiodun has won the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary for Oluyole Federal Constituency, securing the party’s ticket for the House of Representatives ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The primary, held on Saturday in Oyo State using the APC’s Option A4 voting system, saw Abiodun poll 2,315 votes to defeat other aspirants.

The exercise began early in the morning under the supervision of party officials, representatives of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and security personnel. Officials reported that the process was peaceful and orderly across the wards.

The incumbent Rep. Tolulope Akande-Sadipe finished with 33 votes. Other results were: Tajudeen Mumeen 218 votes, Kehinde Olaosebikan 133 votes, Olusunmbo Olugbemi 122 votes, and Jide Adewale 4 votes.

Speaking after his victory, Abiodun thanked party members and leaders for their support. He pledged to focus on development-driven representation and to tackle poverty and underdevelopment in Oluyole.

He also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for strengthening internal democracy within the APC, and called on fellow aspirants to unite and work together ahead of the general elections.

Hon Gbolagade said the time had come for positive change in the LGA and called on voters to remain united and committed to delivering victory for the party in 2027.
