


Ikere-Ekiti came alive with excitement and political enthusiasm as the BAO/MCA grassroots campaign tour stormed the ancient town in continuation of the statewide mobilisation ahead of the June 20, 2026 governorship election in Ekiti State.
Residents, party faithful, youths, market women, and supporters trooped out in large numbers to receive the Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji,popularly known as BAO, alongside his deputy, Ch (Mrs)Monisade Afuye, during the campaign tour to the second largest town in the state.
The atmosphere across the town was electrifying as chants of “BAO Again” rented the air, with supporters expressing satisfaction with the achievements of the current administration in the areas of infrastructure, youth empowerment, workers’ welfare, education, and rural development.
A prominent APC stalwart from Ikere-Ekiti and France-based businessman, Harrison Olaniyi Alonge(HOA), played a key role in mobilising party supporters and residents for the successful outing. Alonge, popularly known as HOA, through his media aide, Olawale Ogunyebi, commended Governor Oyebanji for his people-oriented leadership style and visible developmental strides across Ekiti State.
He described the massive turnout witnessed during the campaign tour as a clear indication that the people of Ikere-Ekiti and Ekiti State at large remain solidly behind the BAO/MCA administration and are fully prepared to support the governor’s re-election bid.
Alonge also urged his support team (Team HOA) and party members to remain united, committed, and focused ahead of the forthcoming governorship election, stressing that continuity in governance would guarantee more progress and sustainable development for the state.
The campaign tour witnessed the presence of APC leaders, stakeholders, youth groups, women associations, and community leaders, all of whom reaffirmed their loyalty and support for the BAO/MCA ticket.
Earlier, the entourage of Governor Oyebanji, his deputy, and members of the campaign council paid a courtesy visit to the palace of the Ogoga of Ikere Kingdom, Oba(Dr)Samuel Adejimi Adu Alagbado. The monarch appreciated the governor for the various infrastructural developments executed in the community under his administration.
The traditional ruler, who also serves as the Chairman of traditional rulers in Ekiti State, offered prayers for the success and victory of Governor Oyebanji and the APC in the June 20 governorship election.
