Harrison Alonge condemns bandits’ attack on Ekiti community,calls for establishment of state police

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and dedicated philanthropist, Harrison Olaniyi Alonge (HOA), has strongly condemned the recent attack by bandits on Eda Oniyo Community in Ilejemeje Local Government Area of Ekiti State, where a Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) pastor was gruesomely murdered and several worshippers abducted, describing the incident as barbaric, unfortunate, and unacceptable.

In a statement released through his media aide, Comrade Olawale Ogunyebi, and made available to the press in Ado-Ekiti, Alonge expressed deep sympathy to the victims, their families, the affected community, and the Ekiti State Government, noting that no society can thrive under the persistent threat of insecurity.

He called on security agencies to intensify efforts in tracking down the perpetrators and ensuring they are brought to justice without delay. He also urged governments at all levels to take proactive and decisive measures to safeguard lives and property across the state.

Alonge,the France-based business mogul emphasized the urgent need for the establishment of state police, stressing that localized policing remains a critical solution to addressing the growing security challenges confronting the nation.

According to him, state police would enhance intelligence gathering, improve rapid response to security threats, and ensure better protection of both rural and urban communities.

He further called for stronger collaboration among security agencies, local vigilante groups, and community leaders to effectively curb criminal activities and restore public confidence in the security architecture.

While reaffirming his commitment to the peace, safety, and development of Ekiti State, Alonge urged residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with security operatives by providing timely and useful information that could aid efforts to combat criminality.
