Lagos state has emerged the winner of the 5th under 19 south west Jide Bademosi Cricket tournament sponsored by Energy and Mineral Resources ( EMR)  held at the cricket oval of the Obafemi Awolowo stadium formerly Liberty Stadium, Oke Ado, Ibadan. Oyo state.
Ogun was runners up as Oyo state was second runners up in a competition which began on Wednesday,  April 15, 2026 and ended on Saturday April 18,2026.
No fewer than six cricket teams from Lagos, Ogun, Ekiti, Oyo Ondo and Osun state featured in the tournament which saw the Managing Director of 
Energy and Mineral resources Idowu Ajayi reiterating the intention of the company  to continue to bankroll the annual competition noting that it had been an interesting tournament which had brought a lot of excitement.
Speaking at the occasion, Seye Fadahunsi prayed for long life for their mentor whom they were celebrating, Prof Jide Bademosi who clocked 85 years recently adding that the board of the Government College Ibadan Cricket Council would be playing the same competition in his name at the new cricket oval which they are building in his honor at the school noting that the occasion would be grande and interesting.
Specifically, he stated that the new oval shall be named after him and not in his memory but in his lifetime adding that the next tournament which is the 6th edition of the Energy Mineral Resource ( EMR) south west under 19 cricket tournament would hold at the oval of the Professor  Jide Bademosi cricket oval at the Government College Ibadan next year.
