Oyo Rep, Odidiomo facilitates NITDA digital training for 200 youths, distributes laptops, cash to beneficiaries in Ibadan

No fewer than 200 youths in Oyo State have benefitted from the Federal government digital literacy and empowerment program facilitated by the Lawmaker representing Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West Federal Constituency, Hon. Stanley Olajide aka Odidiomo , in collaboration with National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA).

The training program include ,digital marketing, cybersecurity basics, remote work, and technology-enabled entrepreneurship

Honourable Olajide, who chairs House Committee on Digital, Information Communication Technology and Cybersecurity, hinted that his priorities include establishing tech and innovation hubs to position Ibadan as the technology capital of the South-West.

While describing the practical as response to challenge of youth unemployment and urgent need to bridge the digital divide, charged the beneficiaries to use the training and tools judiciously.

Earlier, NITDA representative Mr. Eedris Faruk, explained that the participants were equipped with skills in digital literacy, AI, responsible platform use, and online business setup to drive education, entrepreneurship, and employment.

Cross section of the participants called for continuous digital skills training, highlighting knowledge sharing and practical application to empower youths.

At the completion of the 10-day training the participants received laptops and financial support.
