A lawmaker representing Kajola State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Azeez Musibau Akintola (popularly known as Action), has empowered over 500 constituents with life-changing materials, equipment, and cash support.

The mega empowerment programme, held at the Okeho Town Hall in Kajola Local Government Area of Oyo State, attracted prominent members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), some members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and indigenes of the local government.

Speaking at the well-attended event, Hon. Musibau Action said the initiative was designed to uplift lives, support hardworking men and women, empower youths, and strengthen small businesses across Kajola Local Government Area.
“We understand that true leadership is not measured by titles, but by impact and how much we improve the lives of our people daily,” he said.
The lawmaker, who is seeking support for a second term in office, recalled that he had facilitated several employment opportunities for constituents, including appointments into TESCOM, SUBEB, the Civil Service, Nursing services, Amotekun, and OYRTMA, among others.
He noted that the empowerment programme was a fulfillment of his campaign promises and urged beneficiaries to make judicious use of the items distributed.
“The items given today are not mere gifts; they are tools for transformation. They are meant to create opportunities, encourage self-reliance, and reduce poverty in our communities,” he said.
Addressing the youths, he added, “The future belongs to you. Take advantage of every opportunity provided today to improve your standard of living. Be focused, hardworking, and never underestimate your potential. Kajola will rise through your energy, innovation, and determination.”
Hon. Musibau also appreciated party leaders, women, ward leaders, and the entire community for their continued support, assuring them of more developmental projects if re-elected.
“This is just the beginning. I remain committed to improving infrastructure, supporting education, enhancing healthcare, and creating more empowerment opportunities for all,” he said.
While flagging off the distribution, Hon. Tunde Oloyede commended the initiative of Hon Musibau Action, describing it as a true demonstration of effective representation.
He urged constituents to continue supporting the lawmaker and to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to ensure his re-election. He added that items would be distributed through ward chairmen to ensure fairness.
In a lecture titled “The Role of the Legislature in Empowerment Programmes,” former Kajola Local Government Chairman, Hon. Isiaka Lekan Salami (Obe), emphasized that legislators are responsible for making laws for the well-being of the people and overseeing government activities.
He described the empowerment initiative as impactful and urged the lawmaker to intensify efforts in improving infrastructure within the constituency. He also called on residents to support Hon. Musibau’s second-term ambition.
Salami further commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for ongoing road rehabilitation and infrastructure development across the state and the country.
Items distributed during the programme included gas cylinders, motorcycles (okada), deep freezers, sewing machines, generators, POS terminals, farm sprayers and chemicals, blenders, and cash support.
The event also featured the distribution of cash to farmers and POS operators across the 11 wards of the local government.
Some beneficiaries who spoke with journalists praised Hon. Musibau Action for the initiative, describing it as a significant step toward improving livelihoods in the constituency. They also pledged their support for his continued tenure in office.
