It is common knowledge that the West has always used their media outlets to fight what I chose to call the image war to discredit any nation that doesn’t align with their aspirations and purposes.
A balanced reportage of issues, events and happenings around the world is not only informative but, very key and instrumental to positive development of the world that is now a global village.
While the rest of the world see Journalism and the media as an instrument of information, the West has weaponized the media,
if it were some other people that instituted and profited from the barbaric, inhuman and wicked human trade and exploitation of the Slave trade era, the West would have dug out every horrific detail of those dark ages.
it would have been on every media space degrading the tribe and people who perpetrated such evil as slave trade.
Today the world sees Africa as a jungle because that is what the West wants the world to see, the world isolates Russia because that is what the West wants, we must begin to tell our own stories ourselves, we should understand that all western owned media are just weapons to fight every oposing nation and to run down great ideas that are not indigenous to the West.
The use of propaganda to discredit and destroy other nations is a soft but deep piercing arrow of destruction that takes decades and even centuries to heal if at all; because it is based on imaginations and idealogies created in the minds of a people.
What must we do?
Africans must tell the story of Africa.
Russians should tell the story of Russia.
Caribbeans should tell the Caribbean story and if you do not believe their stories you have the duty to travel and verify the authenticity of their claims.
The unrpovoked violence in the streets of the western world is unprecedented but, they never tell such stories about themselves, behind the glitters of Hollywood is so much betrayal, murder, suicide depression, frustration loneliness, child abuse and devil worship , who talks about it? Nobody, because they tell their own story.
The ugly face of Racism (against the same people whom they stole away from their homes and caused them through hard labour without pay or freedom to build their cities, put food on their tables service their sexual urges ) smiles under the mask of democracy.
Who reports that?
Even the policeman in uniform is guilty ; how can we so soon forget the ” I can’t breath ” Episode?
I do not mean to say that crime or criminality is ethnic or racial, far from it, just to make the point clear that just as they are bad people there are also good people in every tribe and every race
There are ghettos and slumps in the West, there is always The Good, The Bad and The ugly in every society in the world, it is not peculiar to Africa.
Russia,Caribbeans or , Mexico nor any other geographical location of humans.
Come back home to nigeria, the igbo man who hates a Yoruba man or Hausa man may not have suffered any injury from them, same thing the Yoruba man who hates the Igbo may not have ever had any dealing with an igbo person, this is the ignorance of generalization, it is a strategic weapon in the hands of selfish politicians who will do any and everything to divide the people just so they can rule them.
Let us end this ugly narrative, you cant demonize a whole race just because one man injured you.
I ask the Yoruba man, has an igbo done to you what a Yoruba man never did or isnt capable of doing?
To the igbo man, ” Has a Yoruba man done to you what a fellow Igbo man has not done or isn’t capable of doing?
Lets remove the barrier of tribalism ethnicity and nepotism so that all the best brains can come together and build a progressively working country that we all can be proud of regardless of trib, creed or religion.
