The Balogun Babalaje of Ibadan land Chief Ayo Folorunso popularly known as Ayo Onike has urged the federal government to halt the implementation of new tax law.
Chief Folorunso explained that the tax law is anti people as it will affect business activities such that sales will reduce drastically.
He pointed out that business climate is so bad to the extent that it does need any form of tax as it end up increasing the prices of good and services thus taking it beyond the reach of people whose income have been seriously affected negatively in the first place.
Chief Ayo Onike canvassed that what is required is for government to revert back to the Value Added Tax ( VAT) adding that the new tax law being planned by government will not do any good other than making Nigerians poorer.
He therefore urged government to halt its implementation by keeping it in view rather than bring so much suffering onto Nigerias who are already grappling with so much already.
“ We do not need this tax government is implementing as it is making the prices of goods to skyrocket and drive buyers away because of high prices which beyond the reach of most Nigerians “ he noted.
