
President of the Non Indigenes Traditional Council of Ibadan and Oyo state (NITCIOS) Prince Friday Ajofe Okoliko has admonished non indigenes in the state to ensure that they are law abiding apart from living in peace with their host the Yorubas.
Speaking in Ibadan Prince Okoliko who is also the Onu Igala in Ibadan land opined that peace and unity is a necessity ingredient which also serves as catalyst for growth and development hence reasons why non indigenes should live in peace with their host.
He explained that the NITCIOS which comprises of the Hausa, Igbo, Urhobo, Igala, Fulanis and the Ebira should also live within their means while celebrating any festival or occasion.
Prince Okoliko stated that celebrating moderately within once means is necessity for any one to avoid crimes and criminality point out the opposite is a recipe for criminality and trouble.
He said that NITCIOS members are co existing among themselves because of their understanding of one another besides the cooperation adding that this has resulted into peace among themselves.
The NITCIOS President observed that this is the reasons the traditional rulers need to be engaged by the government for peace and conflict resolution since they are the representative of their people who put them on the throne which they occupy on their behalf besides being closest to them.
Prince Okoliko who praised all the traditional rulers of various ethnic group for their cooperation in their quest for the body to become formidable and United adding that this has enhanced peace and unity and peace co existence among the various ethnic groups.
He therefore urged the state government to leverage on this unity and make use of the traditional rulers to enhance peace among the residents of Oyo state.
