

The city of Ibadan came alive on Tuesday December, 9 2025 as a Non Governmental Organizations (NGO), Hidden Trove Empowerment Initiative, Ibadan, Oyo State Capital hosted one of the most impactful empowerment programme in recent times, providing life-changing support, relief items such as food , clothes and funds to over six hundreds of beneficiaries across Oyo State.


The elaborate event, held at Gethsemane Prayer Ministries International, Eleyele Ibadan attracted Ministers of God, Community leaders, artisans, widows, and small-scale business owners who testified to the transforming impact of the initiative.


The programme marked another milestone in the sustained commitment of Hidden Trove Empowermemt initiative to uplifting vulnerable households and strengthening economic independence among residents of Ibadan and its environs.

In their keynote address, Engr. and Deaconess Dayo Opeyemi described the Initiative of Hidden Trove Empowermemt scheme as a very good one, adding that the empowerment scheme was conceived three years ago out of a genuine desire to create opportunities for people who lack access to financial and capacity-building support. They said the scheme is a good one aiming to help the vulnerable and less privileged in our society.
They noted that economic hardship, unemployment, and rising cost of living continue to put pressure on many families, stressing that the Hidden Trove project was her family’s way of giving hope and restoring dignity to struggling individuals.
According to them, human development remain the greatest legacy anyone can offer society. “We strongly believe that empowering people is the shortest route to lifting the poor and needy out of poverty. When individuals have the tools, training, and confidence to succeed, entire communities begin to flourish,”
“We expressed gratitude to partners, church leaders, volunteers, and supporters who contributed to the successful execution of the event.”
The programme featured intensive praise and worship segment, exhortations, motivational talks, business mentorship, and distribution of cash and food stuff to the over six hundred beneficiaries. Items presented include rice, gradnut oil, garri, Ankara materials, startup capital for petty traders, and food packages for widows and elderly residents.
Beneficiaries described the empowerment initiative as a divine mandate to touch lives, especially students, aged women, widows, and young people striving to build a future for themselves. She emphasized the need for Nigerians to embrace self-reliance, creativity, and resilience, noting that the Hidden Trove Initiative would continue to expand its interventions across more communities.
“It gives us joy to see people smile again. Our goal is to raise a generation of skilled, confident, and resourceful individuals who can support their families and contribute positively to the economy. This is just the beginning; we are committed to doing more,” she assured.
Several beneficiaries gave emotional testimonies, expressing gratitude to the organisers for restoring hope at a time many families are facing economic uncertainty. Some aged women and widows who received financial assistance described the scheme as very encouraging.
They said the gesture would enable them generate daily income to support their children. Another beneficiary, a young student described the initiative as “a life-saver that will help him stand on his feet.”
In his sermon, Reverend John Olubukun, General Overseer of Only Jesus Evangelical Mission, Bembo Street Sango, Ibadan described the scheme as a welcome development, noting that God is happy when we reach out to the poor and needy.
Quoting from Psalm 100 verse 4, the clergy said the scriptures urges people to come to His entrance with praise and a thanksgiving , stressing that this occasion is a moment of praise and thanksgiving.
He Commended Hidden Trove Empowermemt initiative for embarking on a far reaching empowermemt scheme which great impact in the lives of the people.
Rev. Olubukun also thanked the General Overseer of the Church, Rev’d (Dr) Moses Aransiola his grace over the Ministry.
Meanwhile, Rev’d Moses Aransiola had offered prayers and blessings to Hidden Trove in fufilment of it’s mission and agenda.
Leaders of Gethsemane Prayer Ministries International praised Hidden Trove Empowermemt initiative for the gestures and resources to uplift humanity.
Christian leaders also lauded the initiative for its transparent selection process and its focus on long-term sustainability rather than mere charity. They urged beneficiaries to make good use of the support received and become role models for others in their communities.
The grand empowerment ceremony concluded with prayers, thanksgiving, and renewed pledges from the Opeyemi family to strengthen the Hidden Trove Empowerment Initiative into a full-scale development platform that will continue to empower thousands across Nigeria.
With the success recorded in this edition, many residents of Ibadan and beyond say they are optimistic that the initiative will remain a beacon of hope, especially for the unemployed, low-income earners, and vulnerable groups striving for a better.
