The serene town of Ibereko Badagry in Lagos State came alive over the weekend as members, friends, and well-wishers of the Ajiwo dynasty converged at the Celestial Church of Christ, Imole Ayo Cathedral, Opposite Army Barrack, Ibereko, Badagry, Lagos State, to celebrate the life and legacy of late Mother Celestial Stella Olusola Ajiwo,  a devoted servant of God whose faith and generosity touched countless lives.

The occasion was the Amisa Remembrance Service, held in her honor at the Celestial Church of Christ, Ibereko, Badagry Parish — a colourful event that radiated both spiritual fervor and joyful nostalgia.

From the early hours of Saturday, October 18th, 2025, the church compound was filled with worshippers adorned in resplendent white garments. The atmosphere was electrifying with hymns, prayers, and heartfelt testimonies about the late

Mother Celestial Stella Olusola Ajiwo, who was widely regarded as a pillar of faith, humility, and charity in the Celestial community.

It was a day of reflection, worship, and thanksgiving at the Amisa Remembrance Service — an important tradition in the Celestial Church of Christ which served as a moment to honor the faithful departed while reinforcing the message of eternal life and godly living.

Notable personality in attendance included Evangelist (Dr) Funmi Aragbaiye, a.k.a Mama Sioni, Evangelist Joseph Adelakun (Ayewa), Pastor (Mrs) Bunmi Bakare among others.

For Celestial Mother Stella Olusola Ajiwo who was known for her deep spirituality and unwavering commitment to the gospel, this year’s remembrance carried even deeper meaning.

The service began with a solemn procession led by the parish choir, whose angelic voices filled the air with hymns of hope and gratitude. The officiating ministers who clad in their ceremonial robes, offered prayers of thanksgiving and invoked blessings upon the family and congregation.

Delivering the sermon, the Shepherd-in-Charge, Veneral Superior Evangelist Isaiah Dansu urged the congregation to emulate the godly virtues exemplified by the late Celestial Mother Ajiwo noting that the righteous shall see again in Paradise.  He described her as a woman of unshakable faith, whose devotion to the things of God remained steadfast until her final days.

“Mama Ajiwo lived a life of purpose and prayer. She was an intercessor, a peacemaker, and a true mother to many — both within and outside the church. This remembrance is not a mourning ceremony but a celebration of a life well-lived in service to God and humanity,” he  said.

Speaking on behalf of the family, her daughter,  Ololade Olufeyi Ajiwo

who was also appointed as the Cathedral Choir Matron expressed gratitude to the church leadership and the entire congregation for their continuous love and remembrance of their late mother.

On the reason for the occasion,  Ololade Ajiwo said, ” I promised myself that when it’s five years, I will celebrate my mum’s life. Even though I had plans for old age that whenever old age takes its toll on her, I will be by her side, but we propose and God dispose, so, I decided to organize a celebration to honour her life and legacy .

“We are deeply touched by the overwhelming support from everyone. Mama loved this church with all her heart. She believed in service and humility, and today, we are proud to celebrate her legacy of faith,” She added

My mother was an inspector of education in Lagos state. A staunch Celestian. She was born on March 9, 1946, She hailed  from Igbajo in Osun State but died in Badagry and was buried there.

“She was blessed with 3 wonderful children, and of which one passed in 10th of March 2019, a day after mums birthday.  Mum also passed the following year due to the passing of her son, leaving myself and my brother.

“Until her death, she was the Coordinator of Celestial Women’s Council from Agbara to the Seme border. She was a mother, celestial, and a matron to so many organisations,  schools, and social organisations.  She was the matron of the cathedral choir and a very strong member of the Holy Mary movement.

Family and friends pay glowing tributes as emotions run high among the  children, relatives, and longtime associates of the late matriarch. They took turns to share personal tributes, and many described her as a woman of great compassion, who was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need.

Other speakers, including church elders and youth leaders, highlighted her contributions to the growth of the parish — from supporting several projects to mentoring younger women in the faith.

The celebration was not without its moments of joy and cultural splendour, especially at the elaborate reception for the guests. The choir’s melodious renditions of Celestial hymns set the tone for the day, while several guest artistes thrilled attendees with spirit-lifting songs and dance at that elaborate reception which took place after the Church Service to honour the guests.

The event also featured special prayers for families, widows, and youths — a gesture reflecting Mother Celestial Ajiwo lifelong dedication to helping others find hope and purpose in God.

On Sunday, October 19th 2025, a thanksgiving session was held, during which the congregation danced heartily, symbolizing victory over death and gratitude for the promise of eternal life.
