The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has distanced itself from a planned protest by Activist, Omoyele Sowore and his associates, warning students against participating in the event.
The NANs led by its President, Comrade Olushola Oladoja, made this known during a press conference held at the Federal Cooperative Government, Eleyele, Ibadan.
The development comes amid claims that NANs is involving in the planned protest.
NANS leadership said the protest scheduled for October 20, which they described as a politically motivated agenda has no connection with student organization.
Comrade Oladoja, emphasized NANs commitment to peaceful advocacy, constructive engagement, and developmental initiatives that promote the interests of Nigerian students.
The Association also urged parents and guardians to caution their children against being used by selfish politicians who exploit young people’s energy for personal gain.
NANS assured the public that it will continue to prioritize the welfare and safety of its members, while promoting peace, unity, and national development.
