Oyediran who made the observation following the criticism which trailed the largesse of President Tinubu to the Super Falcons and the D’Tigress which he gifted naira equivalent of one hundred thousand dollars each, Officer Of the Order of Niger award as well as a three bedroom apartment each at the Renewed Hope Estate in Abuja, pointed out that their were opposition in some quarters because the Governors are not doing what they are supposed to be doing by impacting into the well-being and welfare of their people.
The ex Oyo tennis boss posited that that the gift to the Super Falcons and the D’ Tigress were in order because it would serve as motivation to others besides liberating many of them from property adding it was only President Tinubu who has shown proper appreciation contrary to the culture of handshaking by former President late Mohammad Buhari.
He equally exonerated Governor Seyi Makinde from the blame of not appreciating two of the Super Falcons players who are from Oyo state arguing that it is the state Football Association which ought to link the players to the Governor stressing that the players themselves might not have been interacting with the stakeholders and the people of the state before the award hence the apparent apathy by Governor Makinde.
