The Chairman of Shooting Stars Football Club of Ibadan Supporters Club, Ogunpa Taofeek Asamu has thumped up the reorganization in the Ibadan based team saying that it was long overdue.
Asamu who was reacting to the development in the Oluyole Warriors opined that this is very good news as it will enhance the growth of the team which came 8th in the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL)
Recalled that the team has a new Chairman in the person of Honorable Taiwo Lekan Salami who replaced the former Chairman Honorable David Babatunde Olaniyan who has been deployed to another parastatal.
Honorable Lekan Salami in turn has sacked the coaching crew led by Gbenga Ogunbote besides appointing one Bunmi Fadayomi as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) just as he said a new officer would work as the Sporting Director of the 1996 and 1998 Nigeria national football league champions.
The new positions have since paved way for the sack of the team General Manager who is also an ex international in the person of Dimeji Lawal besides giving room for the replacement of the entire technical crew led by Gbenga Ogunbote among other back room staff.
Asamu explained that the situation though painful to an extent because it affected many Officers in the were necessary and overdue because it is meant for the growth of the the Oluyole Warriors.
He posited that with this development, the Oluyole Warriors is now positioned to operate as teams in Europe and elsewhere instead of what obtains in the past where there was a sloppy way of handling things at the Ibadan based club side.
The Chairman therefore enjoined the fans of the team to be patient and show understanding noting that what is happening is meant to usher in progress and growth.
