Ogunbote reveals Shooting Stars ambition

Coach of Shooting Stars Football Club of Ibadan Gbenga Ogunbote has disclosed that the team does not have any other ambition than to aim towards finishing well at the end of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL)
Speaking in Umuahia at the end of the week 35 Premier League match between Shooting Stars andAbia Warriors, Ogunbote who has previously tutored Enyimba and Rangers Football Club of Aba and Enugu respectively revealed that the Oluyole Warriors have banished the thought of winning or ending within the the first five units in the NPFL.
The former Coach of Sunshine Stars of Akure and defunct Giwa Football Club as well as Gateway Football Club of Abeokuta noted that what is now left is to salvage the situation by finishing well.
“Our focus now is to finish strong and not winning the league as envisaged earlier on” he posited “ Things have gone beyond winning the league rather what we have to do is finish strong”
Ogunbote pointed out that the fortunes of the Shooting Stars suddenly nosedived without anything to check the downfall.
“The players suddenly lost it and it became too late to rescue such that what we have to do now is ensure that we end well and not
badly “ he added.
The Oluyole Warriors coach noted that this would be done with rest of the matches remaining to be played since there are about three more matches to be played before the end of the season.
Recalled that the Shooting Stars Football club of Ibadan were in the second position at the beginning of the second stanza of the league after an eight winning steak before the fortune of the team suddenly nosedived leading to it loosing about nine matches consecutively including the home and away matches.
The fans of the team were then dreaming and salivating about continental matches at the main bowl of the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan before the debacle.
