
The Non Indigenes Traditional Council Of Ibadan and Oyo State (NITCIOS) has applauded Oyo state Governor Engr Seyi Abiodun Makinde for providing palliatives to the victims of Alesinloye market fire disaster.
Speaking in Ibadan, the President of NITCIOS, His Royal Highness, HRH, Ajofe Friday Okoliko, the Onu Igala of Ibadan land said
that the steps taken by Governor Makinde are the right steps in the right direction.
Recalled that a fire disaster ravaged Alesinloye market recently burning over 500 hundred shops along with the goods in them worth millions of naira.
Governor Makinde while on a visit to the market revealed that the market will be rebuilt to modern standard apart from ensuring that a functional fire stations operates within the premises such that it can access every parts of the place in case of such disaster while disclosing that palliatives have also been provided for the victims of the market after consultation with the leadership of the place.
HRH Okoliko observed that the succor in form of palliatives from the government will help in assuaging the plight of the victims whose goods and shops were ravaged by the inferno.
He added that this is a big relief to many of the victims who may not be buoyant now due to the result of the inferno which consumed their means of livelihood noting that the palliatives is coming at the right time when the traders needed it most since they are are trading with loans from banks and financial institutions.
The NITCIOS President said further that the Governor has shown from all intent and purposes that he is a well meaning and compassionate administrator who is concerned about the well-being and welfare of his people as well as their progress.
He posited that the steps taken by the Governor will go a long way in solving the incessant fire disaster in the market which has been a recurring decimal over the year.
