Lawyer to the late Nigeria highest goal scorer, Rashidi Yekini , Barrister Jubril Mohammed has posited that Shooting Stars Football Club of Ibadan will win the on going 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) .
Barrister Mohammed who stated this said bearing injuries and any unforeseen circumstances, the Ibadan warlords, the Oluyole Warriors will win the league or get a continental ticket at worst.
He explained that given the situation of the 1977 CAF African Cup Winners Cup as well as 1996 and 1998 Nigeria Premier football league winners, the team should at least win a continental ticket bearing all unforeseen circumstances including injuries and funds.
Barrister Mohammed who also organized the award of the Nigeria Premier League highest goal scorer in the past noted that the team is seriously poised for a league shield even though Rangers international Football club of Enugu is breathing down its neck while Enyimba Football club of Aba performance in the CAF Cup has not been complementary as to guarantee Nigeria its third ticket in the continent, the Ibadan based team will still win a continental ticket.
Barrister Mohammed submitted that he foresees well meaning and ardent supporters coming to the aid of the team in the event of paucity of funds noting that this has been lacking due to the precarious position of the Shooting Stars in the league in the past when it had always battled relegation adding that with the present situation where the team is contesting to win the league or worst a continental ticket, financial help would come from its supporters.
