The Maye Balogun Babalaje of Ibadanland Chief Ayo Folorunso has implored President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to work towards restoring the value of the naira just as he lauded him for withdrawing from the case against protesters of bad governance.
Speaking in Ibadan Chief Folorunso also known as Ayo Onike opined that it was good for President Tinubu and the federal government to withdraw from the court case against protesers ah bad governance as those involved were minors who were merely expressing the state of the economic situation in Nigeria.
He observed that there would be more protest if the value of the naira is not restored because the purchasing power of Nigerians have been reduced tremendously leading to hunger in the the land while the fuel price is on the increase almost on a daily basis in the country.
The Maye Balogun Babalaje said that it was noteworthy that President Tinubu listened to popular opinion which was the outcry of Nigerians against the federal government for dragging minors to court for protesting against bad governance stressing that protest is a legitimate right of the citizens of any democratic nation which enables government to know the feelings of the populace about any policy.
Chief Ayo Onike submitted that it was also heartwarming that the independent fuel marketers have resolved to import fuel if the price from Dangote is not favorable adding that there should not be monopoly which would make life very miserable and very difficult for Nigerians.
