3SC: Usikaye charges management on unity, commitment, resourcefulness …commends Makinde over improved facilities at Lekan Salami stadium

The former South West Zonal Coordinator, National Sports Commission, Zone One, Pastor Yemi Usikaye has urged the management of the Shooting Stars Sports Club 3SC on the need to be more united, committed and resourceful in order to bring back the glory of the Oluyole warriors .

Usikaye made the appeal while delivering a lecture titled ” Rekindling The Glorious Days Of Shooting Stars Football Club” organized by the management of Shooting Stars Flakes newspaper at the media center of the Lekan Salami stadium, Adamasingba Ibadan.

He urged the Shooting stars management to ensure a smooth working relationship between them and the coaching crew as well as the players with good welfare package for the players and their coaching crew to engender excellence from the players.

Usikaye, a Management Consultant charged the 3SC management to to show more commitment in bringing the team to the top of the league table saying” you can not rekindle the glorious days when there is no unity and commitment”

” I urge the management to be more united, committed, resourcesful and proactive, without that , you can not achieve the desired results” he said

The former Zonal Coordinator who disclosed that the team can also leverage from its goodwill to market its T shirt, bags besides producing its own face caps and handkerchiefs during the lecture where Engr Makinde was bestowed the award as the best sports loving Governor and SAO Petroleum was honored as the most supportive company inclined to sports and humanity, said that Shooting Stars club past players should also be honored from time to time to serve as role model to present players.

While charging the media to on adequate publicity for the 3SC , he also advised the management to have a mascot for the club, invest in stocks, shares and landed property, and engage in merchandise as done in foreign football clubs as ways of generating revenue for the club

Usikaye , who lauded the Oyo state governor ‘Seyi Makinde for giving facilities at the Lekan Salami stadium a facelift to the standard obtained abroad,
noted that good facilities can further boost the performance of players

He emphasized the recruitment of sound coaching personnel for the team as well as quality and experienced players into the team’s fold as ways through which the performance of the 1983,1997 and 1998 league winners can be given a boost .

In his brief remarks, the Chairman Shooting Stars Supporters Club, Mr Oyeniyi Okikiolu Olufemi who received the award on behalf of Governor Seyi Makinde, urged football enthusiasts to always support and promote their local teams rather than the foreign football clubs which has nothing to offer them.

He appealed to the 3SC fans to be patient with the team following it’s dismal performance in the ongoing league, assuring that the Oluyole warriors will bounce back stronger and improve on its current rating on the league table.

In the same vein, the publisher, Shooting Stars Flakes and its Editor-in-chief, Abimbola Adeoye and Chief Godwin Ngwu respectively pledged their unalloyed commitment to promoting the Shooting Stars football club through adequate, timely and quality publicity of activities of the club
