The newly installed Mogaji of Ile Lato Compound in Oke Labo area of Ibadan South East local government of Oyo state, Mogaji Abiodun Gbolagade has vowed to synergise with the Olubadan Oba (Senator)Lekan Balogun in tackling illicit drug usage among youths and insecurity in IbadanlandGbolagade , a former Special Adviser on Housing to the late Oyo state governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi gave the assurance during a thank -you visit to the Olubadan at his Alarere palace in Ibadan on Wednesday.
Speaking against the backdrop of recent complaints brought before the monarch concerning the state of insecurity and illicit drug use among the youths in Ibadanland, Gbolagade said there is the need to collaborate with the law enforcement agencies in clamping down on drug peddlers in identified communities
“We need to first invite the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA, to look at how to forestall such development, in the aspect of insecurity, we need to support the Olubadan in tackling insecurity issues in Ibadanland so that he also can be happy that he has able lieutenants who are capable to be part and parcel of his rulership
” The Olubadan cannot do it alone without his leutenants and now that he has given the opportunity to those that knows how to operate within that tentacle, we must support him both in addressing drug related issues as well as insecurity in Ibadanland.
“He said , the people of his domain should expect a new edifice that can accomodate the entire family members of Lato Compound adding that he has been able to renovate two buildings apart from the one he had earlier constructed
He also promised to provide potable water to the community as well as
scholarship awards “not only our family members but also to members of the Oke Labo community so that they can benefit maximumly “
