UN International Parliament for Safety Peace and Justice, inducts 10 Nigerians, appoints National Women Affairs Director

The International Parliament for Safety, Peace and Justice –United Nations (IPSPJ-UN) has inducted 10 Nigerians into its World Supreme Council and appointed a National Director and five State Commissioners for Women Affairs to advance women’s empowerment across the country.

The induction ceremony, held on March 15, 2026, at the Skill Development Plaza in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, drew top officials of the organisation and representatives of partner groups.

Presiding over the event were the Lord World President, H.E. Cardinal Prof. Joseph E.S. Dominion (JP, IHRD,PJ), and the World Mother General, H.E. Amb. Rev. Dr. Mrs. Euginia Chinedu Dominion(FCA, PJ) alongside the Global Regulator, H.E. Amb. Dr. Odii Prince Orji Umahi (JP, PJ), who officiated the proceedings.

The highlight of the ceremony was the elevation of H.E. Hon. Amb. Mrs. Johnson Mary-Ann Akalo (PJ) as Nigeria’s National Director for Women Affairs.

Until her appointment, she served as Commissioner for Women Affairs in the Oyo State chapter of the organisation.

In her new role, she is expected to provide strategic leadership and coordinate activities of state commissioners nationwide.

To strengthen its presence at the grassroots, IPSPJ-UN also appointed five State Commissioners for Women Affairs.

They include Hon. Amb. Chief Mrs. Kanu Ifeoma Blessing PJ (Rivers), Hon. Amb. Mrs. Lilian Amaka Ezechukwu PJ (Anambra), Hon. Amb. Mrs. Peace Theodore Ineyougha PJ (Bayelsa), Hon. Amb. Mrs. Stella Akaigwe PJ (Lagos) and Hon. Amb. Mrs. Victoria Isaac PJ (Akwa-Ibom).

In a related development, Amb. Comr. Jude Ihenacho Onuoha PJ was inaugurated as Chairman of the organisation in Rivers State, while Hon. Amb. Evang. Dr. Hope Odhuluma Ikiriko PJ was named Grand Patron for the state chapter.

Other inductees into the World Supreme Council include Amb. Chief Dr. Joel Kenneth Udoka PJ, appointed as Member Global Ambassador, and Amb. Darlington Chukwudi PJ, bringing the total number of new inductees to 10, with eight assuming key leadership positions.

The inductees received certificates of appointment, official robes and insignia, and were urged by the leadership to uphold integrity and the core values of the organisation in the discharge of their duties.

Representatives of civil society organisations, including the Health Environment and You (Hey), Igwego Multipurpose Foundation (IMF) and Sustainable Development for Grassroot Communities in Nigeria (SDGCIN), were present at the event.

The ceremony coincided with activities marking International Women’s Month and Mothering Sunday celebrations, underscoring IPSPJ-UN’s focus on promoting the welfare of women and families.

The organisation also commended President Bola Tinubu and Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara for supporting an enabling environment for civil society initiatives, while appreciating the Rivers State First Lady, Lady Valerie Fubara, for her advocacy for women and children.

IPSPJ-UN said the new appointments signal a renewed commitment to advancing safety, peace and justice, with a strong emphasis on empowering women as drivers of national development.
