Parents should have confidence in public education- Ibadan North LG boss, Olufade

The Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade has called parents to have confidence in the public education.

He stated this during the Catch Them Young Initiative Campaign held at Seventh Day Adventist Primary school 1&2, Agodi, Ibadan on Thursday.

Comrade Akintodun George Olubayo noted that the era of poor administration of public schools has been redefined by the Seyi Makinde led administration since 2019 in Oyo State.

He added that the elementary education in the state is a contemporary of Chief Obafemi Awolowo’s vision of 70’s.

The council boss commended the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde for empowering teachers with needed materials and infrastructure, with prompt payment of salaries, pensions and gratuity, describing it too unprecedented.

While advocating for more co-operation of all parents in enrolling their wards in public schools, assured of improvement in the sector for greater competitively globally.

In her remarks, the chief co-ordinator of Catch Them Young Initiative and Bright Lens Media Networks, Ayodeni Aluko called the pupils to remain focused and hardworking towards achieving their dreams.

The event which gathered various parents and school administrators, featured inauguration of various educational clubs with
Muhammed Munirat (Health club); Akinfenwa Michael (Press club); Adebo Dumininu (Jet club); Nduka Patrick (Environmental club); Alor Solomon (Quiz & Debate); William Promise (security) as co-ordinators.
