A new faith-based initiative aimed at supporting families raising children with disabilities has been launched through a partnership between OAKonsult and the widely used YouVersion Bible App.

The collaboration, according to OAKonsult Responsibility Officer, Funke Adeloye, introduces a new reading plan titled “Talking Faith for Parent Carers,” designed to encourage and strengthen parents and caregivers navigating the journey of raising children with disabilities.

“The initiative seeks to bring spiritual guidance, reassurance, and community support through daily reflections rooted in Scripture.”
According to the announcement, the reading plan emphasizes key messages of identity, purpose, and hope for families who often face unique emotional and practical challenges. It reassures parents that every child is “fearfully and wonderfully made,” highlighting the belief that disability does not diminish God’s purpose for any individual or family.
“Through the reading plan hosted on the YouVersion Bible App—one of the world’s most widely used digital Bible platforms—the initiative will explore Biblical perspectives on faith, strength, identity, and resilience.”
Organizers say the goal is to create a supportive spiritual resource not only for parent carers but also for friends, supporters, and anyone seeking to grow in faith while supporting the disability community.
Representatives of OAKonsult described the partnership as a meaningful step toward amplifying conversations around faith and disability. By making the plan accessible through a global platform, the initiative hopes to reach families across different regions and remind them that their journeys are seen and valued by God.
The organizers also stressed that the reading plan aims to build a faith-centered community where parents and caregivers can find encouragement, share experiences, and draw strength from Scripture.
The initiative carries a central message: disability does not cancel God’s purpose. Through faith, community, and shared understanding, the partnership hopes to inspire hope and resilience among families walking the path of disability care.
