


The wife of Oyo State Governor, Mrs. Tamunominini Makinde, has commissioned a renovated marriage registry and launched a health insurance scheme for the elderly in Egbeda Local Government.
The renovated registry, now named Tamunominini Makinde Multipurpose Hall, aims to provide a dignified environment for marriages and generate revenue for the local government.
Speaking at the event, Mrs. Makinde, while expressing delight in commissioning the facility, charged others to emulate such act.
Earlier speaking, Chairman of Egbeda local government, Hon. Sikiru Sanda, said the event was a three-in-one program, including the commissioning of a pedestrian bridge and the launch of the health insurance scheme.
The Chairman, likened the achievements to Governor Makinde’s commitment to grassroots development, women empowerment, and social welfare.
In her goodwill message, Commissioner for Health, Dr. Oluwaserimi Ajetunmobi, highlighted the benefits of health insurance scheme especially to elders, while Elder Wole Oyelese, praised Hon. Sanda’s strides in the local government.
He assured PDP members in Oyo State that with Governor Seyi Makinde, there is no cause for alarm.
