In a significant show of loyalty and appreciation, Yoruba activist Chief Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has declared his support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.

Speaking during a visit by leaders of the Agbekoya Security and Peace Keeping group at his residence in Soka, Ibadan, Igboho expressed gratitude to the president for the support he received during his difficult period in 2021.

In his remarks, he said, “I give thanks to God and to our father, His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR. May God grant him long life. I pray that his second term will be successful and that he will be re-elected.”
Igboho, a well-known advocate for Yoruba rights, acknowledged Tinubu’s role in helping secure his freedom following the challenges he faced in 2021.
“He granted me freedom after all the challenges I faced in 2021. I will always remain grateful to him,” he said.
He also appreciated traditional rulers in Yorubaland for their support and intervention, including the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba (Senator) Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja (ARUSA I), and the Olugbon of Orile-Igbon, Oba (Dr.) Francis Olusola Alao.
Reaffirming his position, Igboho urged his supporters to back the president’s second-term ambition.
“I am committed to this noble cause, and I declare that I am now his son. If you truly love me, you must support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second-term bid,” he said.
The Agbekoya Security and Peace Keeping delegation, led by Aare Omo-Oba Kunle Adelakun Eruobodo, paid a courtesy visit to Igboho to commend his contributions to peace and security in Yorubaland.
In their welcome address, the delegation praised Igboho’s role in advocating for the safety and protection of Yoruba communities, describing him as a committed defender of the region.
As part of the visit, the group presented him with a framed portrait of a gallant warrior, symbolizing their appreciation for his dedication to the cause of peace and security in Yorubaland.
In response, Igboho thanked the group for the honour and their continued efforts in combating insecurity.
“I appreciate your visit to my home today. I thank the National Coordinator of Agbekoya Security & Peace Keeping, Aare Omo Oba Kunle Adelakun Eruobodo; the President-General of Agbekoya Parapo, Aare Kunle Oshodi; and all Agbekoya members across Nigeria for your solidarity in combating insecurity in the Southwest and Nigeria as a whole,” he said.
