

The Nigerian gospel music community has been thrown into mourning following the death of Taiwo Adegbodu, one half of the renowned gospel duo, Adegbodu Twins.

News of his passing was announced on Sunday via a post on the duo’s official Facebook page.

The emotional message, reportedly written by his twin brother and longtime music partner, Kehinde Adegbodu, expressed profound grief over the loss and quickly drew an outpouring of sympathy from fans and fellow ministers.
In the heartfelt tribute, Kehinde lamented the sudden departure of his brother, questioning how he would cope without him and describing the pain as unbearable.
“TAIWO, why will you leave me and your kids without notification?
My heart is bleeding. Lord, how do you want me to cope without him?
God, why? This is too much for me to bear!!!”
Since the announcement, social media has been flooded with tributes celebrating Taiwo’s life and ministry. Admirers and fellow gospel artistes have remembered him as a devoted evangelist whose songs strengthened faith and brought spiritual encouragement to countless homes.

The Adegbodu Twins, made up of Amos Taiwo and Samuel Kehinde Adegbodu, rose to prominence in the Yoruba gospel music scene after forming their partnership in 1974. Over the decades, they became known for their rich harmonies and steadfast commitment to spreading the Christian message through music.
