

The President of Rotary International, Francesco Arezzo, has decorated Chief Adeshina Kadri with the prestigious Paul Harris Fellow (+2) recognition at a grand town hall meeting hosted by District 9126.


The well-attended event, held on February 15, 2026, at the Manhattan Event Centre in Jericho, Ibadan, Oyo State, drew distinguished Rotarians, political leaders, and community stakeholders.

Also honoured at the event was Senator Sharafadeen Alli, who was recognized as a Benefactor of The Rotary Foundation and formally inducted as a Rotarian. His induction ceremony was conducted by the District Governor of Rotary International District 9127, marking a significant moment of cross-district collaboration and unity within the Rotary family.
Speaking at the occasion, President Arezzo commended District 9126 for its impactful community development initiatives and reiterated Rotary’s unwavering commitment to polio eradication and sustainable humanitarian interventions across Nigeria and beyond.
In a related development, the Olori Olubadan was officially enlisted as a Polio Advocacy Drive Ambassador in recognition of her strong influence among women and children in the community.
In a show of support for Rotary’s humanitarian causes, she donated the sum of N1 million to The Rotary Foundation. The donation was generously supported by Senator Alli, further demonstrating his commitment to service above self.
The event was graced by the wife of the Rotary International President, Anna Maria Criscione, whose presence added colour and prestige to the ceremony.
Speaking on the development, Chief (Ambassador) Adeshina Kadri (JP) expressed profound gratitude the President following his decoration as a Paul Harris Fellow (+2) by the President of Rotary International, Francesco Arezo.
Reacting, Chief Adeshina Kadri described the recognition as a humbling and deeply inspiring honour.

He further noted that the decoration strengthens his resolve to expand impactful initiatives that promote education, health, youth empowerment, and sustainable development.
“This recognition challenges me to do more — to serve more intentionally, to lead more selflessly, and to collaborate more strategically in advancing causes that uplift humanity. I dedicate this honour to my partners, mentors, and every volunteer working tirelessly to make our communities better.”
Chief Ambassador Kadri concluded by commending the leadership of Rotary International for its unwavering dedication to global service and pledged continued collaboration in advancing humanitarian goals worldwide.

Also in attendance was Rotarian Yinka Babalola, the next Rotary president, who played a key role in the induction of Senator Alli and reaffirmed the club’s dedication to strengthening membership and expanding its humanitarian footprint.
