Ilaji Hotels Acquires Interlink, Takes Over Spain’s Atlético Berja, Names New Board

Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort (Hospitality) Limited has officially acquired Interlink and assumed full control of its assets and subsidiaries, including Spanish football club Club Deportivo Atlético Berja, located in Berja, Andalusia.

The company announced that the takeover became effective from January 29, 2026, describing the acquisition as a major step in its growing involvement in international sports development, hospitality expansion, and community-focused investment.

Following the completion of the deal, an Extraordinary General Assembly of Atlético Berja was held at the Salva Sevilla Municipal Stadium, in line with the club’s statutes. At the meeting, members unanimously approved a complete restructuring of the club’s Board of Directors to reflect the new ownership.

New Board Unveiled

The Assembly ratified the dissolution of the former Board and approved the appointment of a new leadership team expected to drive Ilaji’s long-term sporting and institutional vision for the club.

The newly appointed Board members are:

President: Mr. Dotun Jubril Sanusi

Vice President: Mr. Adesina Araoye

Secretary: Miss Divine Sanusi

Treasurer: Dr. Justin Fenech

All appointees formally accepted their roles during the Assembly.

Regulatory Steps Underway

The Assembly also authorized the new President to carry out all required procedures with relevant Spanish football and government authorities, including:

Royal Spanish Football Federation

Royal Andalusian Football Federation

Other relevant regulatory bodies

Ilaji confirmed that the required documentation is being executed before a notary on the date of the announcement to ensure full compliance with Spanish regulatory requirements. The outgoing Board is expected to complete the handover of all official documents immediately after finalisation.
