
The Conference of Retired Heads of Local Government Administration has expressed its profound and heartfelt gratitude to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde for the approval and signing of the wage increase bill into law.
They expressed their appreciation in a statement jointly signed by the Chairman and Secretary of the conference, Alhaji Gbolagade Mufutau Agboluaje and Mr Nathaniel Ajiteru respectively and made available to journalists.
They said the gesture had lifted the morale of the retired officers and strengthened their belief in Governor Seyi Makinde’s love and care for the senior citizens.
According to them “This is obviously an icing on the cake as he had previously approved:
- The consolidated salary package for the Heads of Local Government Administration
- Regular payment of salary and pension
- Payment of gratuity as a first line charge
- Twice increased allocation to the Local Government Staff Pension Board
- Increased Christmas bonus
- Purchased brand new official cars for the Heads of Local Government Administration.
- Provision of physical infrastructure across the state
- Unprecedented and massive employment of our youth in the service of Oyo State.”
They further opined that “These gestures are monumental and unprecedented”.
They further expressed appreciation for this latest gesture, which would improve their financial, social, psychological, and mental well-being, ultimately increasing their life spans.
“May God shine His light on your path and grant you the desires of your heart. ” They prayed.
“Your Excellency, we promise to heed your clarion call when the time comes.”
