The former Special Adviser on Youth and Sports in Osun State, Hon Abdulateef Adegboyega Adelabu Aremo, has joined countless Nigerians in celebrating former Governor of the state and elder statesman, Chief Bisi Akande, on the occasion of his 87th birthday anniversary.

Aremo , in a statement he personally signed and made available to journalists in Osogbo, on Friday, acknowledged Chief Bisi Akande’s contribution to public life, which according to him goes beyond governance.

The Special Adviser to former Governor Gboyega Oyetola, the current Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, affirmed that Chief Bisi Akande has consistently invested in young people through policies that promoted discipline, education and merit.

The Osogbo born grassroot politician said: “On the occasion of the 87th birthday of Chief Bisi Akande, former Governor of Osun State and elder statesman, I join countless Nigerians in celebrating a leader whose life has been defined by service, integrity, and commitment to the growth of future generations.

“Chief Bisi Akande’s contribution to public life goes beyond governance. He has consistently invested in young people, not only through policies that promoted discipline, education, and merit, but also through mentorship, encouragement, and the deliberate opening of political and leadership spaces for youths within the progressive movement.

“His belief in grooming young leaders, empowering them with responsibility, and instilling values of accountability and service has helped shape many of today’s public office holders and professionals. This quiet but impactful investment in youth development remains one of his most enduring legacies.

“At 87, Chief Akande stands as a moral compass in Nigerian politics, reminding us that leadership is about sacrifice, vision, and preparing the next generation to do better than the last.
